Many times, there are few things more distressing than feeling like you are all alone. Group counselling enables individuals to see others struggling in similar ways. Individuals receive feedback, suggestions, encouragement and support from the counsellor and others within the group. Group therapy can be helpful in motivating change and validating one’s feelings. Some of the groups I have run include Grief & Loss, Mindfulness for Immigrant Women and Building Self Esteem, and I am an Immigrant Girl.
